"OFFICER CADET"

This is the first book in a new series staring Lon Nelson, a young man from Earth that left the Springs North American Military Academy because he was slated to go into the National Police. Lon always wanted to be a soldier. He goes to the planet Dirigent and joins the DMC (Dirigent Mercenary Corps) as an officer trainee. His battalion is hired by the world Norbank to put down a rebellion started by the second wave of colonists that want to take over the world.
There is lots of close infantry combat, much of it
eye-ball-to eyeball. The book was fun and a quick read but the style is a little
simplistic for me. But, worth the read and I plan to read the sequel
"Lieutenant" with hope that as the series progresses, it will improve.
